The Birth of the 'Wise Bean'
Visionary urban mobility began in 2005 when the founders of Shandong Xindayang Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd. set out to solve the urban congestion crisis. Their goal was simple but revolutionary: create a compact, smart electric car that is easy to park and accessible to everyone. They named it ZHI DOU – literally 'Wise Bean'. By 2012, this vision gained international momentum, receiving the EU E-MARK and beginning its official import to Europe on October 23, 2012.

Zhidou was engineered for the demanding standards of the European market from day one. In 2013, after passing a rigorous series of 63 technical assessments, the Zhidou electric car was officially crowned 'Green Car of the Year'. This recognition solidified our commitment to safety, efficiency, and environmental responsibility, proving that microcars could compete on the global stage with top-tier technical specs.
A Global Powerhouse Under Geely Concern
Today, Zhidou is backed by the GEELY Concern – the industry giant owning Volvo, Lotus, and Daimler. As one of the world's best-selling electric microcars, Zhidou continues to dominate urban landscapes. In Italy alone, over 3,500 Zhidou cars navigate city centers, and our influence spans 18 European countries. Since April 2018, we have specialized in bringing this technological lead to central Europe, offering high-end city transport backed by global subsidies and engineering excellence.
